It was probably the biggest combined chess & product promotion of the year: The Colombian company JGB, maker of the vitamin supplement “Tarrito Rojo” put much of their yearly advertising budget into inviting Women’s World Chess Champion Alexandra Kosteniuk and promoting chess to Colombian youth. The result was a massive chess tournament “Tarrito Rojo Chess Talent” in Bogotá and in Medellin, with many simuls, prizes, donations to charities. See the full photo album on ChessPics.
We are pleased to present to you, from our photo partner ChessPics two web photo albums of Chess Queen Alexandra Kosteniuk, “Fashion in Bogotá“, and “Tourism in Medellin“. They were taken while Alexandra was participating in the Chess Talent Tarrito Rojo 2010. More photos of the main event coming separately.
Alexandra Kosteniuk is in Dubai for the Sport Accord Convention. She took advantage of that venue to support Chess to become an official Olympic Sport. Read the article of Gulf News about it. Feel free to leave a comment with your feelings about this issue.
Alexandra traveled on her birthday from Miami to Indialantic, Florida, so she could give a 46-board simul during the Space Coast Chess Festival, in Indialantic, Florida. It went very well, and the final result was +42 =3 -1. Congratulations to Wayne Strickland for his win, as well as to Dr. Axel Stock of UCF, John Ludwig, and Eric Perlman for their draws. See the official photo album of this event.
Alexandra is pleased to offer for sale exclusive chess keychains, at the price of only $3 per piece and free shipping. You can find them on the ChessQueen chess shop.
