Alexandra Kosteniuk at the Machu Picchu

Chess Queen Alexandra Kosteniuk just came back from a chess & tourism promotion trip to one of the 7 Wonders of the world: the Machu Picchu, Peru. The trip was intensely followed by the press and was shown Live country-wide on TV. Have a look at Alexandra’s blog post, and the YouTube video of Game 3. Don’t miss the official photo album with stunning photos of chess at the Machu Picchu. Alexandra also climbed to the top of the Waynapicchu, a climb reserved to few people, and was the first person to reach the top on May 24.

Alexandra Kosteniuk meets Carvalho

Alexandra was a guest of honor at the Title I District Chess Championship in Miami yesterday. On the photo you see her with Program Director Elizabeth Tejada and Superintendent of schools Alberto Carvalho (who oversees the 4th largest school district in the USA). The Program and tournament (844 kids playing) is a great success and it’s nice to see such great support for chess in schools. Read Alexandra’s blog post and see the official photos of this event.

Read the exclusive post on CHESSBLOG. We have nice photo albums: Tarrito Rojo Chess Talent, Fashion in Bogotá, and Tourism in Medellin. And don’t miss Alexandra’s emotional video about her trip to Colombia.
