The November issue of Vedomosti’s magazine “Kak Potratit’” (translated as “How to Spend”), features 4 famous sports people who have lent their names to western brands of watches: 1. Alexandra Kosteniuk, 12th women’s world chess champion, who teamed up with Gangi to create the Scacco Matto GMT3, 2. Lionel Messi, soccer player of FC Barcelona, who lent his name to Audemars Piguet Royal Oak, 3. Alexei Nemov, 12-time Olympic medalist in Gymnastics who helped create the IWC Big Pilot Limited Edition, and last but not least 4. Evgeni Plushenko, the most well known figure skating star of all times, who has partnered with Ulysse Nardin Champion’s Diver Limited Edition watch. Read the full article here.

Following the June 2011 press release about my collaboration with exclusive watchmaker Pasquale Gangi, the day finally arrived (on January 15, 2012) when 5 numbered specimens of the famous chess pocket watch were created and ready to be presented to the press and to the public. This happened at the Geneva Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie. I was full of emotions holding in my hand such a jewel, especially thinking it was created to time chess games. It is my pleasure to announce my partnership with the Italian creator and Swiss watchmaker Pasquale Gangi in giving birth to the most exclusive chess pocket watch ever made: Scacco Matto GMT3!
I have never seen such a beautiful watch that can be used to play chess! It is a true piece of art! Of course it has 3 time zones for big travelers, but also has a complete system to time a chess game, including the elegant flags that go up and down as time goes by.
